Position: Business Analyst Internship

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: £38,000 – £48,000 a year

Location: Remote

About the Role

Remote / Reading, UK | £38,000 – £48,000 | Full-time or Part-time | Contract – Permanent | Technology – WordPress & NextJS

We’re looking for a talented Front End Developer who loves crafting beautiful, functional websites, and enjoys working across WordPress, Nextjs, and React to join our team!

About the role:

You’ll take the lead on exciting, project-based work, taking full WordPress website builds from concept to completion, collaborating with the team to bring ideas to life and delivering seamless, high-impact digital experiences.

You’ll also get stuck into varied landing page projects, where there’s plenty of scope to experiment with the latest technologies and craft innovative, interactive solutions.

Beyond project work, you’ll support our lead developer with a wide mix of day-to-day tasks. That means turning client requests into smart, practical features, keeping sites running smoothly with updates and maintenance, and rolling out platform upgrades – helping ensure our clients’ websites perform at their best.

We’re a small, ambitious team, so we’re looking for someone who’s not only technically strong, but also someone with a sharp eye for detail, a proactive attitude towards learning and growing within the role and who’s excited to contribute to the bigger picture – helping shape our development processes and grow with us as the company evolves.

About us:

Studio Noon is a creative agency based in Reading, UK, founded in 2018. We work with a wide range of clients to design and deliver thoughtful, well-crafted solutions across web design, UX, digital marketing, campaigns, and print.

Working with us means being part of a fast-paced and dynamic business where you’ll be rewarded with exciting and engaging work and a supportive environment in which you can grow and thrive.

As a client-facing agency, we pride ourselves on open and professional communication and that’s not just with our clients and collaborators. The same applies with each other, so you’ll be joining a fun and collaborative team who work closely together to create and deliver our websites.

Main Duties

  • Building new functionality for our custom base WordPress theme, focusing heavily on Gutenberg Blocks using React, PHP, and Tailwind. This involves both front-end styling and back-end integration to ensure seamless user experiences.
  • Implementing new features and improvements to our existing Next.js projects, typically linked to Airtable or our headless WordPress setups.
  • Working closely with our design team to explore enhancements and iterate on concepts, translating design ideas into accessible, intuitive interfaces and turning them into polished, production-ready products.
  • Assessing and upgrading our core development components – optimising tooling, processes, and libraries to streamline delivery and maintain high-quality standards.

About you:

  • 2+ years of professional experience working with WordPress, including theme and plugin development. We do not work with off-the-shelf site builders (Elementor etc), we build custom themes based on ACF. You should be experienced in clean and high-quality WordPress development (not throwing together 50 plugins).
  • A proven track record of developing and utilising Next.js or React applications in a production environment.
  • A strong foundation in front-end: proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (Tailwind CSS), JavaScript (ES6+) and responsive development.
  • Experience in back-end development: PHP (especially in the context of WordPress), plus knowledge of Node.js / server-side rendering.
  • Experience working with version control: We use GitHub or BitBucket, but you must be comfortable using Git, or similar, for source control.
  • Passionate about sharing knowledge, with a constant desire to learn and grow.
  • Self-motivated and take initiative and ownership of your work.
  • Adaptable and able to pivot between multiple, ongoing projects and manage time effectively.
  • Able to communicate confidently, efficiently and effectively, in fluent written and spoken English, with a variety of clients and collaborators.

If you are based in the UK, you already hold the right to work in the United Kingdom.

Extra skills we’d love to see:

  • Cloudflare or other CDN integrations
  • WebGL or three.js for interactive visuals
  • Implementing third-party APIs (e.g. Google Maps, YouTube, Vimeo)
  • Basic server management (e.g. Plesk, cPanel)
  • A working knowledge of SEO best practices

Benefits

  • £38,000 – £48,000 / year, depending on skill level and previous experience.
  • We’re open to both full-time and part-time applicants – salary will be pro rata for part-time hours.
  • This is a remote-first role, and we welcome applicants based anywhere within ±3 hours of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) so we can collaborate in real time. If you prefer an office environment, you’re also welcome to work from our Reading, UK headquarters.
  • While we may occasionally get together for in-person meetings or project catch-ups, we’re flexible and mindful of where you’re based.
  • You’ll have flexible working hours, with core availability required between 10:00 and 15:00 GMT.
  • 25 days of annual leave, plus UK bank holidays.
  • Option to buy additional days of annual leave.
  • We’ll equip you with all the hardware and software you’ll need for the role.
  • Potential for career development training.

Our hiring process:

  • Step 1 – Your application – please include a CV and covering letter
  • Step 2 – Successfully shortlisted candidates will be invited to take part in a short assessment, which will involve code-based tasks and generalised problem-solving with skills required for the role.
  • Step 3 – Conditional upon the online assessment performance, candidates will be invited to an online interview.
  • Step 4 – Decision.
