Position: Residential Support Worker

Salary: £26,000 to £29,500 a year

Job Type: Full Time/Part Time

Location: Tadley, Hampshire, UK

About the Role

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people? Join our dedicated team as a Children’s Support Worker and help us provide essential support and care in a therapeutic environment.

Sponsorship opportunities for candidates already in the UK who received their first certificate of sponsorship for a skilled worker visa prior to 1st April 2024 and has continually held one since then.

Main Duties

  • Act as a positive role model for children and young people, offering care and support based on structure, consistency, and nurturing.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of each child or young person at all times.
  • Be intuitive to the physical and emotional needs of children and young people.
  • Monitor, record, and report any indications of stress or abuse.
  • Encourage and promote good personal hygiene and semi-independence in daily activities.
  • Support children and young people in a wide range of activities, including escorting them to and from activities.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, therapists, and social workers.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation using our electronic recording system.
  • Participate in group meetings, staff meetings, and training sessions.
  • Manage shift work, including overnight sleep-ins.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications in social work, childcare, or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 3 Children and Young People).
  • Experience working with children and young people, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage personal and professional boundaries.
  • Preparedness to work under pressure and cope with stress.
  • IT proficiency, including good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility to work unsocial hours, including public holidays, and attend residential holidays with young people.
  • A current driving license is desirable.
