Position: Senior Carer/Team Leader
Salary: £13.50 to £14.00 per hour

About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced senior carer to join our team. This role involves delivering exceptional care, supervising care workers, handling administrative responsibilities, participating in on-call duties, and contributing to risk assessments and care planning. Applicants must have at least 2 years of experience working in the UK care sector. This position is ideal for an experienced carer ready to step up or an established senior carer seeking a new opportunity. Sponsorship may be available for eligible candidates.
Main Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
- Administer medication as per care plans and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans based on clients’ needs and preferences.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including driving clients to appointments or social activities.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, including any changes in health status or behaviour.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive case management.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary.
- Provide high-quality, person-centered care to clients.
- Supervise, mentor, and support a team of care workers, ensuring they meet performance standards.
- Contribute to and implement risk assessments and care plans.
- Monitor and document residents’/clients’ health, wellbeing, and care plans using digital systems.
- Manage staff schedules, maintain accurate records, and complete administrative tasks.
- Participate in on-call duties as part of the team’s support system.
- Assist with roster management to ensure proper staffing levels and coverage.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and care standards.
- Build strong relationships with residents/clients, families, and external professionals.
Qualifications
- Must have at least 2 years of experience working in the UK care sector.
- Knowledge of first aid practices is advantageous.
- Familiarity with care plans and medication administration protocols is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology to facilitate effective communication within the healthcare team.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- A valid driving license and access to a car required for transportation duties.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in various situations.
- Willingness to complete NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care within 2 years (if not already attained).
- Experience in roster management.
