Position: Social Care Worker

Salary: £11.90 an hour

About the Role

All successful driver applicants must have a full UK driver’s licence and use of their own vehicle with insurance for business purposes (Class 1 insurance)  or a full drivers licence from your country of origin, international driving permit and applicants must comply with funds stipulated on entering the UK to support the acquisition of a vehicle within 3 weeks if successful.

We are actively recruiting new carers to join our team in the Walsall, Dudley and Sandwell area’s on a part-time or full-time basis.

Main Duties

  • Every day, you’ll be making a difference working with adults through community-based adult services in the borough of Walsall, providing support to both males and females.
  • You will support with personal care such as washing, dressing, bathing, preparing meals, mobility assistance, escorting duties, etc.
  • Providing support service and support with outings for adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health issues.

Candidate must be flexible to work on a rota basis over a 7-day period including weekends and/or evenings. Morning shifts can start from 6am and end approx. 3 pm. Evening shifts start at around 3pm and finish between 10 pm and 11 pm. Each shift in each area have different start and finish times according to individual shift patterns. Flexibility is an essential and critical requirement of the job role.

Qualifications

  • We are looking for people who have a caring nature and a commitment to providing a high standard of care and support to adults within the community to establish and maintain daily living skills to maximise independence.
  • The ideal candidates will be empathetic, compassionate, trustworthy, caring, respectful and resilient whilst being reliable, flexible and positive.

Desirable traits:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a healthcare background is required. Training and experience equivalent to a recognised Level 2 in Health and Social Care would be beneficial. Drivers with use of their own vehicle are required and is essential for this job role.
  • Experience or qualification of working with autism, learning disabilities and dementia will be preferred.
