The aim of the Protect Team Is to improve outcomes for young people identified as being sexually and/or criminally exploited, working collaboratively and holistically with families and multi-agencies to manage the risks and develop a safety plan for the young person to re-engage in education or training within their community.

Main Responsibilities 

The Role:

  • As a social worker within Complex Safeguarding, you will be a qualified, Social Work England (SWE) actively registered Children’s Social Worker and experienced within Children’s Social Care, with specific relevant experience in Child Exploitation and Complex Safeguard
  • As a frontline social worker, you will need a robust understanding of children and young people’s risk to exploitation, ensuring that they are protected from significant harm to minimise risk and ensure optimum safety and welfare of our young people
  • As a Children’s social worker, you will be responsible to identify levels of risk using your professional judgement, applying critical reflection and using evidence-based tools
  • As a social worker you will be part of a progressive and dynamic team, the collaborative environment encourages multi-agency working, you will be confident to build and develop professional relationships with excellent communication, creative engagement, direct work and interpersonal skills with young people and their families
  • As an experienced social worker you will have sound knowledge and understanding of all children’s legislation, particularly statutory guidance, policies, procedures and frameworks in relation to safeguarding processes
