Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist clients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Support individuals with dementia care, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Administer first aid as needed and maintain a safe environment for clients.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate personnel.
- Foster a positive relationship with clients, encouraging independence and social interaction.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a support worker role or similar position is preferred, particularly in assisted living or hospice care settings.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively.
- First aid certification is desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a caring attitude towards clients.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with clients and team members.
