Job Role
Our Lightwood residential service is a three-bed home supporting three individuals in a calm, friendly setting close to local parks, woodland walks and the amenities of Worsley village. The area offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities and community access, helping individuals enjoy structure, independence and a comfortable home environment.
The individuals we support enjoy a variety of active and meaningful experiences including walking, swimming, gym sessions, cycling programmes, museums, pub lunches, zoo trips and seasonal outings like Christmas light trails, with one individual also attending college during the week. Staff provide consistent 1:1 and team support to help each individual follow their routines and stay engaged in their preferred activities.
As a Support Worker, you will be a key part of a young person or adult’s support team, listening to their wishes, planning meaningful activities, championing their communication goals and keeping meticulous records. You will help to create a warm, stimulating environment whilst working a mix of day shifts and sleeps to meet individual needs.
You’ll do more than provide care – you’ll be a mentor, advocate, and source of encouragement, helping the people you support to achieve their own individual outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and support tailored to individual needs
- Build trusting relationships and support emotional and behavioural needs using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
- Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, medication, and household tasks
- Promote independence and choice, encouraging the people we support to make their own decisions wherever possible
- Support with day-to-day activities to ensure the people we support make the most of every opportunity
What we’re looking for
There are no formal qualifications required for this role, but we are looking for an individual that is:
- Passionate about person-centred care
- Resilient and tenacious
- Positive and proactive
- Enthusiastic with a willingness to learn
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Experience in care is beneficial but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Full UK Driving Licence is advantageous.
