About the Role
The Role
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 16–18 who are living in semi-independent accommodation. Many of the young people we support are unaccompanied asylum seekers and care leavers.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Build trusting, professional relationships with young people
- Support them to attend appointments, access education/training and manage their day-to-day needs
- Promote independence by helping with budgeting, travel training and daily living skills
- Work collaboratively with social workers, healthcare professionals and other external agencies
- Keep accurate records and contribute to ongoing care and support plans
- Be expected to work in line with Ofsted regulations, maintaining high standards of care and compliance at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with vulnerable young people (desirable but not essential)
- A relevant Level 3 qualification (e.g. QCF/NVQ in Health & Social Care or Children & Young People’s Services) OR a willingness to work towards one
- A good standard of spoken and written English – you will be required to communicate clearly and effectively with young people and professionals
- Empathy, resilience, strong communication skills and a genuine passion for helping young people
- Ability to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends
