Support Worker – Bield Housing and Care (Part-Time, Edinburgh | 18 Hours per Week)

Bield Housing and Care, a trusted provider of housing and support services for older people in Scotland for over 50 years, is currently recruiting a Support Worker for its location at 1 Castlebrae Glebe, Edinburgh. This part-time role offers 18 hours per week and is ideal for compassionate and reliable individuals looking to make a real difference in the lives of older adults.

Salary: £11,988.51 – £12,352.11 pro rata per annum

Hours of employment

18 hour organised as follows:

3 days over 7 on a rota.

Responsibilities

The Role

In your role as Support Worker, you will provide care and support to individuals in their own homes including:

  • Assisting with household tasks
  • Assisting and supporting with personal care, including intimate personal care
  • Medication prompting/ administering

Requirements

About You

You Will

  • Have good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Have the ability and initiative to work on a lone working basis
  • Have good time keeping, time management and organisational skills
  • Hold an SVQ2 in Health and Social Care, or have the ability and willingness to undertake this qualification
  • Be required to obtain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up the post
