A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a well-established patch of services in Alveston, Thornbury and Patchway, supporting 5 gentlemen with learning disabilities and/or autism to live their best lives.

Ancora is a small, supported living service in Alveston. The service supports three older gentlemen with learning disabilities and/or autism and provides a homely environment with a well-established, experienced team. It is a perfect opportunity to learn new skills and gain new experiences by utilising the knowledge of the existing team members.

In Patchway and Thornbury we support two individuals who live in their own flats and require 24-hour support.

As a Support Worker, you will:

  • Encourage positive self-image and maintain health and wellbeing.
  • Assist with decision-making and promoting independence.
  • Support people to develop and maintain contact with family and friends.
  • Provide access to the community, enabling the people we support to participate in sports clubs, social events and creative endeavours.
  • Support with managing tenancy issues.
  • Help with personal care and daily living skills.
  • Administering medication.

The successful Support Worker will:

  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have a caring manner and a tolerant nature
  • Be committed to delivering high quality care to the individuals
  • Work well as part of a team but also independently
  • To be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • To be pro-active and to use your own initiative to problem solve.
  • Excellent time keeping

We are looking for people who can work flexibly over 7 days with a variety of different shifts including sleep ins.

Drivers are preferred but not essential.
