Bolton Cares is looking for compassionate and proactive Support Workers to join the Extra Care team in Wigan Central on a part-time or full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for an organisation committed to delivering high-quality care and support services to adults within a social care setting.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience supporting adults, particularly those with learning disabilities, mental health needs, or autistic spectrum conditions. A person-centred approach, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently are essential.

Support Worker
Jump on board with an amazing opportunity at Wigan Cares, as a Support Worker within our Extra Care service. In our Extra Care schemes, people live in self-contained apartments and as part of our team, you will be providing help and support when needed. Extra Care Housing offers solutions for people who need some care and support but also want to retain their independence, with access to on-site care and support, enabling the residents to choose the level of care they need from the security and privacy of their own home, trained, professional care-staff who are on-site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to deliver care and support. Extra Care Housing is available for people aged over 60, and is suitable to support people with a wide range of care needs, including those who have; – Physical disabilities- Mobility issues- Dementia- Mental health problems- Learning disabilities

About the role:
We are looking for reliable Support Workers to support individuals to lead independent and fulfilling lives in their local community. The role requires someone who thrives on variety, enjoys a challenge, and is highly adaptable, as you may be asked to work from multiple locations, dependent on service need. You will need to be flexible, and confident interacting with people from all walks of life, treating people with compassion and care, showing dignity and respect to the people you support and their families, whilst quickly building a rapport quickly. The service operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and you will work on a rota which includes weekends and bank holidays.
Experience and skills required:
- Must have experience supporting adults within a social care setting.
- Experience of supporting individuals with a learning disability, mental health or an autistic spectrum condition would be preferable.
- Ability to develop supportive relationships, promoting independence and wellbeing.
- Ability to use a computer and be IT literate.
- You will be highly motivated to deliver outstanding care and support.
- Have the ability to work in a person-centred way.
- A driving licence/use of a car is desirable but not essential
