Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality care and support for individuals with learning disabilities, autism, or physical disabilities within a supported living environment. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing independence, dignity, and quality of life for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personal care and daily living support, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
  • Encourage independence and promote overall well-being through person-centred care.
  • Implement positive behaviour management strategies to support clients with complex needs.
  • Assist with mobility, including safe use of hoists and manual handling techniques.
  • Monitor, record, and report any changes in clients’ health or behaviour.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment in line with health and safety standards.
  • Attend regular training to develop skills in first aid, medication, safeguarding, and manual handling.
  • Support clients to attend appointments, activities, and community outings.

Requirements

  • Previous care experience preferred; training provided.
  • Knowledge of learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, or mental health is an advantage.
  • Ability to undertake physical tasks, including hoisting and mobility support.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work toward it).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
