Support Worker role
As part of a key-working team at Millwrights, you will work with service users with learning disabilities and other additional needs. In your role as a Support Worker, you will work as a part of team to carry out the support and care needs of the service users according to their care plans and risk assessments.
Working to a person-centred model that puts the people we support at the heart of all we do, you will follow each service user’s support plans and risk assessments with the guidance and supervision of the Manager and other Senior Staff to achieve a high standard of care. Liaising closely with other professionals and outside agencies you will create a robust and inclusive support environment which is safe, happy, and healthy for the service users. You will work closely with the Manager to evaluate risks, review progress, and drive our innovative service forward.
The skills you’ll need:
- Good written and spoken English. English and Maths with GCSE grade C and above are essential.
- Good IT skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint are preferrable.
- NVQ in Health and Social Care level 2 or above or working towards this qualification is preferable.
- You need to be a team player with a positive attitude towards social inclusion and disabilities.
- 1 years’ experience as a Support Worker is preferrable.
- A good working knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults’ procedures and assisting service users with best interest decisions under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 are preferrable. However, you will be provided all the necessary training when you commence your job.
- Your writing ability will be an assert with regards to regular report writing and updating electronic care planning systems.
- You need to be reliable and punctual with a positive attitude.
