Nacro is seeking a Support Worker to join its Substance Misuse Service in Wolverhampton. This position involves working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to assist service users in achieving recovery goals and leading healthier, more independent lives.

The role includes managing referrals, carrying out assessments, coordinating prison transfers, and facilitating needle exchange services. You will also conduct one-to-one sessions, offering tailored support to meet individual needs. The main objective is to help service users progress in line with the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) framework, ensuring that all care plans and interventions are focused, effective, and person-centred.

SPOC (Single Point of Contact) Support Worker

Job type –Full time, FTC until March 2026 with a view to extend for a further 12 months

Salary – £25,647

Hours – 35 hours per week (+5 hours paid lunch)

Who are we looking for?

We are searching for a SPOC Support Worker as part of Wolverhampton’s substance misuse service, who can work in a fast paced and dynamic setting to support services users. You will be receiving referrals, completing assessments, prison transfers needle exchange and holding one to one session’s The key aim is to support service users to reach their goals in line with the SPOC focus throughout all treatment and interventions planning.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide information, advice and support primarily via telephone but also face to face and in groups.
  • Deliver interventions in a wide range of settings such as criminal justice, primary care, schools and youth centres.
  • Undertake elements of assessment and case management with clients as directed.
  • Liaise with external agencies, e.g., GP’s, treatment providers, and social care services.

Ideally you will have some experience of working with substance misuse and or support or social care experience, but Nacro will look at candidates who have minimal experience but relevant qualifications.

A DBS check will be required for this role.
