Are you a calm, proactive, and social individual looking to make a real difference in people’s lives? We’re looking for a Full-Time Support Worker to join our friendly and welcoming team in Worcester, supporting four incredible individuals with learning disabilities and autism.
Who Will You Be Supporting?
You’ll be supporting two men and two women, aged between their 40s and 70s. Each person has unique needs and personalities, and they love to stay active and social. Here’s a little about them:
- Communication: Three individuals do not use words to communicate but express themselves clearly through gestures, sounds, and facial expressions.
- Health Needs: Two ladies are blind, and one gentleman has epilepsy (well-managed with medication).
- Mobility: All four require personal care and use hoists and wheelchairs.
They enjoy a wide range of activities including:
- Swimming (you’ll need to be comfortable joining them in the pool!)
- Trips to the theatre, music sessions, and parties
- Relaxing activities like massages, nails, and sensory experiences (e.g., water bed)
- Games like checkers, walks, and meals out
- Spending time with family and exploring new places
What Will You Be Doing?
As a Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in helping each person live a full and meaningful life. Your responsibilities will include:
- Personal Care: Supporting with all aspects of personal hygiene and mobility.
- Communication Support: Encouraging and understanding non-verbal communication.
- Activity Engagement: Supporting individuals in their favourite hobbies and helping them explore new interests.
- Daily Living Support: Assisting with meal preparation, feeding, and household tasks.
- Medication Administration: Supporting with epilepsy medication (training provided).
- Emotional Support: Creating a calm, structured, and positive environment.
Shift Patterns:
We offer a variety of shifts to support a healthy work-life balance:
Day Shifts:
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Long Days: 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Sleep-In Shifts: 10:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Paid to sleep)
