Support Worker – Southwark Wellbeing Hub | Together for Mental Wellbeing (London)

Together for Mental Wellbeing is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join the Southwark Wellbeing Hub team in London on a part-time basis. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals experiencing mental distress while working within a supportive and professional environment.

The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of a GCSE or Level II qualification in English, or equivalent, and have experience working collaboratively with individuals facing mental health challenges. The ability to establish and maintain a safe, respectful environment is essential, as is a willingness to work closely with colleagues and partner organisations to deliver coordinated care.

The role of Support Worker is there to bridge the gaps between statutory, health, community and voluntary services and to provide personalised support to anyone with a concern about their own or someone else’s mental wellbeing in Southwark.

We support people to navigate local options of support and to be linked with specialist services which can meet their needs. Our aims are to support people to make informed decisions; to improve the wellbeing of everyone in Southwark& to support those with mental health needs to manage their wellbeing.

The role of Support Worker, involves autonomous, mobile working in the community alongside engagement with a fast-paced team.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Essential

  • Minimum of GCSE or Level II qualification in English, or equivalent
  • Experience of working alongside individuals experiencing mental distress and in partnership with them
  • Able to establish and maintain a safe environment
  • Willing and able to collaborate with colleagues and other organisations
  • Basic competence in the use of email and word processing software and computerised systems for service user records and reports
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills relating to housing, welfare benefits, education and relationships
  • Able to produce clear records and reports in English
  • Experience in supporting vulnerable individuals gained from paid work and/or voluntary and/or life experience
  • Lived experience of mental distress
  • NVQ Level II in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
