We are currently recruiting Full Time & Part Time Autism Support Workers to support an individual with autism and a learning disability within the CROYDON area.

Role Description

We are committed to Equal opportunities. We currently have a great opportunity for dedicated Autism Support Workers to work with an individual who has a learning disability, autism and mental health support needs. The individual will be living on their own so we are looking for Autism Support Workers who can provide 360 wrap around support that covers all aspects of their life throughout the day and night.

To be part of their team, they are looking for the following qualities from a team member:

  • Provide support during the good times and the difficult periods our individual faces in their daily life.
  • Have a good understanding of Autism / Mental Health and how this can impact daily living or have working with in a mental health setting
  • Understand Autism or have had experience working with Autistic people, and that you understand that being autistic is an important part of who they are.
  • Be a positive advocate for them.
  • Be consistent – do what you say you say you will if you can’t explain why.
  • Be prepared to motivate them in a supportive manner
  • Be patient and understanding encourage them on the difficult days
  • Have a fun and kind personality who will go on adventures
  • Work with them to solve issues and overcome day to day tasks
  • Come to work to “Get to know me” as that is what is needed to support them
  • Work as part of the team who deliver amazing person-centred care
  • Think outside the box
  • Be able to have a laugh and joke but have set standards and boundaries
