About the Role

Are you passionate about delivering exceptional care? Do you hold a UK driver’s licence and have access to your own car? If so, Gleam Healthcare wants YOU!
We are expanding our dedicated team to support a new contract launching in Goole in April 2025. We’re looking for part-time and full-time domiciliary care staff to provide compassionate, high-quality care to our service users.
Attending team meetings, supervision, and appraisals to ensure ongoing professional development.
Main Duties
Providing Personal Care
- Assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting while respecting dignity and privacy.
- Supporting individuals with mobility needs, including the use of hoists, wheelchairs, or other assistive devices
- Ensuring proper skin care to prevent pressure sores or related conditions
- Supporting Daily Living Activities
- Assisting with meal preparation, eating, and drinking, considering dietary needs and preferences.
- Helping with household tasks, including light cleaning, laundry, and shopping, as per the care plan.
- Encouraging and supporting independence wherever possible.
Medication Administration
- Administering medication safely in line with the care plan and medication policy.
- Keeping accurate records of all medication administered or refused.
- Reporting any concerns about medication errors or adverse reactions immediately.
Promoting Emotional and Social Well-being
- Building positive relationships to reduce loneliness and social isolation.
- Supporting service users in engaging with hobbies, activities, and community events.
- Providing emotional support and actively listening to service users’ concerns.
Ensuring Safety and Risk Management
- Conducting and adhering to risk assessments to ensure a safe environment for service users and staff.
- Reporting hazards, accidents, or safeguarding concerns promptly.
- Using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following infection control protocols, including COVID-19 precautions.
Maintaining Accurate Documentation
- Keeping up-to-date and accurate records of care provided, including care notes, medication records, and incident reports.
- Maintaining confidentiality in line with GDPR and organisational policies.
Compliance with Care Plans
- Delivering care in accordance with personalised care plans.
- Monitoring and reporting changes in health, behaviour, or circumstances to the care coordinator or manager.
- Ensuring that care plans are reviewed and updated regularly.
Adhering to Regulatory Standards
- Complying with CQC Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOE), including safety, effectiveness, caring, responsiveness, and well-led service delivery.
- Following Home Office regulations regarding working hours, visa compliance (if applicable), and employment conditions.
- Respecting service users’ rights under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) framework.
Safeguarding and Advocacy
- Identifying and acting on safeguarding concerns in line with the organisation’s policies and local authority guidelines.
- Ensuring service users are treated with dignity and respect, and their wishes and choices are prioritised.
- Acting as an advocate for service users, supporting them in expressing their needs and preferences.
Professional Development
- Participating in mandatory training, such as:
- Safeguarding adults and children
- Infection prevention and control
- Moving and handling
- Basic life support
- Attending team meetings, supervision, and appraisals to ensure ongoing professional development.
Supporting End-of-Life Care
- Providing compassionate care and support to service users nearing the end of life.
- Ensuring adherence to care plans, preferences, and advanced decisions regarding end-of-life care.
Respecting Cultural and Individual Diversity
- Delivering culturally sensitive care tailored to the individual needs, beliefs, and preferences of service users.
- Supporting service users in observing religious practices or dietary restrictions where applicable.
