Role Overview
We are a growing courier and transport services business seeking an experienced Courier Operations & Driver Coordinator to work on-site from our Central London or Barking (East London) office. This is a key operational role responsible for job booking, driver management, and overall day-to-day courier operations.

Key Responsibilities
Book and manage courier jobs via online platforms including:
- Courier Exchange (CX)
- Return loads
- Other courier and freight marketplaces
- Negotiate rates and secure profitable work
- Allocate jobs to drivers and manage daily workloads
- Monitor driver working hours, attendance, and start/finish times
- Coordinate driver rotas, availability, and shift planning
Schedule and track vehicle maintenance, including:
- Servicing and inspections
- MOTs, road tax, and insurance renewals
- General vehicle compliance and availability
- Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and operationally ready
- Act as the main point of contact between customers and drivers
- Monitor live jobs, manage delays, and resolve issues efficiently
- Maintain accurate records of:
- Job bookings, rates, and PODs
- Driver hours and compliance records
- Vehicle maintenance and documentation
- Ensure company procedures, safety standards, and service levels are met
- Undertake other ad-hoc operational or administrative duties as and when required to support the business
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in courier, transport, or logistics operations
- Practical experience using Courier Exchange (CX) or similar platforms
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong organisational and multitasking ability
- Confident managing drivers and operational pressure
- IT-literate with good working knowledge of email and online systems
- Willingness to work in person from our London offices
Desirable (but not essential)
- Knowledge of UK driver hours and transport compliance
- Experience managing fleet or vehicle maintenance schedules
- Experience in same-day or time-critical courier operations
- Experience working with owner-drivers and company vehicles
